About The Mayflower
Step into a room at The Mayflower and you'll typically find generous space, a comfortable bed, an en-suite bathroom often praised for its quality, and in many cases a pleasant view over the surrounding area. Family rooms are available for those travelling with children, and drinks can be brought straight to the room for anyone keen to settle in without delay.
Downstairs, the hotel runs a restaurant and bar serving breakfast, packed lunches and kids' meals, with outdoor seating in the garden for milder days. Breakfast is a particular highlight, though the wider menu doesn't always hit the same mark consistently. Staff are attentive and helpful throughout, and practical extras such as room service, luggage storage, 24 hour reception, concierge help and meeting rooms make it as suited to business stays as leisure ones. Free on-site parking is provided, and pets are welcome.
The hotel sits on Kings Saltern Road in Lymington, within easy reach of the harbour and well placed for walks along the Solent coast and into the New Forest. Cycling routes, golf, fishing and local pubs and restaurants are all nearby, making it a straightforward base for exploring this stretch of Hampshire.

What guests say
Overall a lovely place to stay, a warm atmosphere, good location, surprisingly quiet and peaceful. The food in the restaurant was very good, and the bed and pillows were very comfortable, all staff were helpful and friendly. A few small niggles re the room and breakfast which could be easily remedied (e.g. little hanging space in bathroom for towels, in-room milk only available from the kitchen but no use for 1st thing in the morning - no fridge to keep it in, breakfast fruit bowl was a bit lacking)

Stayed there for 2 nights. Had a dog friendly room overlooking the garden. Plenty of parking in hotels car park. Room was spacious with all the facilities we needed. We had breakfast each morning and also an evening meal. All very good and staff very friendly and helpful. Short walk (10 mins) into town, which is lovely, and also along by the marina and shipyard. Would definitely stay again.

Lovely pub with very friendly staff; we stayed for a few nights. We were very impressed with the food and accommodation. The hotel is dog-friendly, and they have access to all areas; dog treats are complimentary. Our dog was given a pigs' ear at breakfast, which he enjoyed very much. The breakfast is very nice; the menu also is varied with lots of options for gluten-free or vegetarian diets. The bar and gardens are presented nicely, and you feel comfortable in either area. The car park is good, and directly next door is a very large public car park right next to the harbour. It's about a 15-minute walk into town. Overall, it was a lovely break, and I would recommend it to anyone.

We had a great couple of days at The Mayflower, being convenient for Lymington town (a 10 minute walk), the yacht club and sea water pool. We brought our dog along and the room, Spinnaker suit, was perfect for us all, located on the ground floor with easy access to the car park. The whole pub has recently been refurbished to a high standard with stylish interiors and a lovely decked area and garden. In our room, tea, coffee (a cute mini cafetière), biscuits and fresh milk were provided, plus dog treats and a bowl. I love Bramley products and was delighted to find them in the bathroom! The breakfasts were delicious and the choices varied and interesting (protein bowls/full English/avocado) and great coffee! All the staff were friendly and approachable and we will definitely stay here again when next in Lymington.
