About Lynton Camping and Caravanning Club Site
Perched on high ground just outside Lynton, this spacious Camping and Caravanning Club site trades the shelter of the wooded valleys below for some of the finest panoramic views on the North Devon coast. From many of the hundred-plus pitches – grass and hardstanding, ranging from compact to larger-unit plots – you can watch the sun rise over open Exmoor countryside and set over the Bristol Channel, a genuine reward for those who don't mind the extra exposure that comes with the elevated setting.
Facilities tick all the expected club-site boxes: heated washrooms, laundry, motorhome service point, site-wide wifi, and a play area for children, all maintained to a reliable standard. There's also a small shop for essentials. Non-members can book at a modest surcharge, and the site runs from spring through late September.
The open moorland aspect does mean winds can pick up more than at valley sites, so sturdy pegs are worth packing. But for those after sweeping views and direct walking access to Lynton and the dramatic Valley of the Rocks, this is one of the area's standout pitches.

Fabulous campsite! I can't believe I didn't find this little jem earlier! What great views, good food and bar. Fabulous if you're looking just to pitch up, as they don't take bookings. Bathrooms clean and well stocked shower and laundry facilities are great. Range of different field to cam in. The cider bar is greyand a very well equipped shop! Such a great find! I'll return Many times for sure. Happy campers!

Just thinking about the summer ahead and it reminded me that I forgot to leave a review for this fantastic site after we stayed last August! It was our fourth time staying at the Lynton site – it is such an idyllic location – tranquil with sea views and endless walking routes from the site itself in every direction. I will never ever get bored of the walk from the site down through the Valley of the Rocks to Lynmouth to watch the sunset over Countisbury Hill from the Harbour. Another favourite walk from the site is to Woody Bay for a swim in the Victorian swimming pool! Super close to Exmoor for more walking routes and stunning beaches not too far a drive. I really enjoyed my chats with Tony the head warden and Tracey (who I’d met before whilst staying at another site) – nothing was too much trouble for them. All the wardens do a superlative job; the temporary shower blocks were immaculately clean and the whole site is extremely well maintained. We’ll be back soon!

Lovely clean camp site . A bit out of the way . Choose the route you take carefully if your towning a caravan as its steep coming out of Lynton . Nice view of the see and quite site and plenty of space for plots .

Staff at campsite were friendly and helpful site is well run when we were there they had temporary shower/toilet block due to fire last year. When we had a problem with our water pump in our folding camper the staff did everything they could to sort it out .site is dog friendly
