About Kite View Campsite

Swoop down and pick a plot at Kite View Campsite if you're looking for a roost right in the middle of Hampshire. This quiet spot is set on a family-run working farm a few miles north of the South Downs National Park, surrounded by arable fields and grazing livestock.

This place is all about making time for the little things that make a camping stay special – book with the farmers for a meet-and-greet with the animals, order meat from a local game dealer, or hire a firepit and kindle the flames the old-fashioned way. Set in an elevated location, Kite View has a front-row seat for stargazing and spotting satellites drifting overhead after dark. In the daytime, it's a great vantage point for wildlife: kites, buzzards and other birds of prey soar overhead, while rabbits, hares and fallow deer dart through the undergrowth.

Footpaths lead straight from site, including routes down to the local pub and village stores a mile south in Medstead. For more supplies, Alton's supermarkets and shops are a 10-minute drive away.

A simple campsite, proper old school. Dirt and regular motorcyclist friendly. You'll be surrounded by horses. Basic but totally adequate shower and toilet facilities which are always clean. Hot water is plentiful in the showers and the outdoor washing up area. Decent signal on 3 and EE as there is no WiFi. The owner is really friendly and helpful.

Kite View Camping lives up to its name! We were able to observe lots of wild animals here. The campsite is away from everything and therefore very quiet and great for watching the night sky. The online booking was super uncomplicated. Our hosts even had a welcome letter ready with a marshmallow/hot chocolate kit. Great place and facilities - we will be back!

This is a really brilliant new campsite. This family-run location takes a huge amount of pride into how things are run. Don’t expect a load of ‘caravan park’ type facilities, this site is for those who want something a little more rustic. We went on a fabulous walk through the woods to a local pub (The Sun Inn in Bentworth) for the Sunday Roast. Really good food in historic decor. I could imagine that pub would also be amazing with a roaring fire, but I’m not sure I’d want to be sleeping in a tent then. The campsite owners are very hands on and ensure that the toilet facilities are very clean and well stocked. A huge plus is the size of the pitches - there is so much space! You don’t feel like you’re having to listen to the conversations of the people in the tent next door. For a small extra charge we did a ‘meet-and-greet’ with the animals. These are very well cared for animals who are very much like a part of the family. We were taken around the farm by Amy the owner who was incredibly knowledgeable and really seemed to enjoy speaking with the children. If there were things to improve, it would be lovely to see a few extra drinking water points dotted around the field as the walk to the tap can be quite far. All in all, would definitely recommend and hope to return in future.

Amy who runs the camp site behind the house/farm is great. Responds to WhatsApp messages in-between running the farm. Helpful when booking and with our enquiries. Lovely field in a remote part of Hampshire near Alton & Four Marks. Field has a little play area and two old tractor tyres to entertain kids. Medstead has a lovely pub that's 15 mins walk and Post Office/Shop that has anything that you might want to stock up on. The portaloos have actual porcelain toilets which is nice. 2 showers which work well. Its a field, with basic facilities and for 7 guys, it was ideal for usWill come again.
