About Travelodge Alton Four Marks
The A31 runs through open Hampshire countryside here, with Four Marks and Alton close by and the steam trains of the Watercress Line among the local attractions. Travelodge Alton Four Marks sits right on this road, making it a straightforward stop for anyone travelling between Winchester and the surrounding villages, with free on-site parking at the front of the building for those arriving by car.
Inside there are 50 rooms with en-suite bathrooms, drinks available in room, and accessible rooms for those who need them. Beds and room sizes hold up well by most accounts, though maintenance is inconsistent in places and there is no air conditioning, so it's worth bearing in mind in warmer months. Breakfast is available on site, and staff are generally noted as friendly and helpful, with 24 hour reception on hand whatever time you arrive.
Pets are welcome, and there's an electric vehicle charge point for those driving greener cars. A pub or bar, fishing, and other entertainment can be found nearby, giving guests a few easy options once they've settled in, while the surrounding countryside and the Watercress Line make it a practical base for exploring rural Hampshire.

What guests say
Pros, staff were friendly, the room was good and well equipped with TV and brew making kit. Lots of takeaways nearby for food. Cons, Cleanliness is not perfect, the WiFi is only 30mins per 24hrs, with a bad phone signal. No aircon, we stayed on a hot night so uncomrtable. The booking system crashed and gave me the wrong date, as this was non-cancellable I had to pay. But a decent price for a stopover for our travels, with a decent location.

Please, if you want to have a terrible time, stay here. This hotel was terrible. On the hottest day of the year, we were scorching. There is no AC and we were given a fan the size of a ball. We went to reception to ask for another fan and were told there weren’t any. The towels were dirty and stained, no shower gel and overall this hotel was dirty. I came here for a wedding, so I shouldn’t need to return, but this was horrific. We left this place as soon as the sun came up in the morning. PLEASE DO NOT STAY HERE

Quiet room, comfortable bed and clean bathroom. Old school panel heater kept the room warm even if the shower was like standing under a dripping tap. Wasn’t expecting much as you know what you’re going to get from Travelodge, but no restaurant and breakfast in a box was a bit of a disappointment. More of a motel than hotel if you ask me. Good friendly service though, although you have to walk up the road for anything to eat

The rooms are a nice size but missing some essentials wg hair dryer and a fridge . The bathroom could have done with a good dose of bleach and the shower pressure wasn't great. The go to breakfast was not what I expected and could do.with looking at again. Travel lodge need to do a lot more if they want to compete with premier inn as there is no comparison. On the plus side the staff were very polite and helpful
