About DoubleTree by Hilton Manchester Airport
Travellers who need to be close to the runway rather than the city centre will find DoubleTree by Hilton Manchester Airport a practical base, whether that's a pre-flight overnight, a long-haul layover, or simply avoiding a stressful early departure. It sits within easy reach of Terminal 2 and the airport's rail station, with on-site parking available for a charge, making it a straightforward option for anyone travelling with luggage or on a tight schedule.
The hotel has 230 rooms across five floors, including family and accessible options, all with en-suite bathrooms, air conditioning and room service. Guests arriving are welcomed with a warm cookie, a small but well-liked touch, and breakfast is regularly singled out as one of the better parts of a stay. That said, some rooms have been reported as not always well maintained, so it's worth bearing in mind alongside the otherwise comfortable and spacious feel of the accommodation.
Facilities extend to a restaurant and bar, a gym, meeting rooms and business services, plus a garden and outdoor seating for those wanting to step outside before a flight. Pets are welcome, and there's an electric vehicle charge point on site. Nearby, guests can find a golf course, along with additional pubs and restaurants beyond the hotel's own dining options.
What guests say
This was a real treat. The room was very spacious, well appointed and the bed was amazing. Something about the pillows being better than anywhere else says a lot too. Price paid vs value: excellent. I didn't bother with the shuttle. It was too much to deal with. The hotel staff doesn't book for you, you do it on your own. That, I didn't like. I ubered and it was faster and same price.

My husband and I stayed at the DoubleTree by Hilton Manchester Airport for one night at the end of May, and unfortunately it was one of the worst hotel experiences we've ever had. Problems began at check-in, where the receptionist was abrupt and unfriendly. When we sat at the bar for dinner, the bartender made it clear we weren’t particularly welcome. He initially told us we could only order from the bar menu, which was perfectly reasonable, except that everything we wanted was already on the bar menu and he still seemed annoyed about taking our order. The food itself was disappointing: my husband couldn't finish his burger, and when he pointed out that the mayonnaise was being served in an uncovered bottle—a hygiene concern—the bartender simply shrugged and replied, "Yeah, I know, mate." The most serious issue, though, occurred the next morning when a housekeeper entered our room without knocking at approximately 5:45 AM. We immediately contacted the front desk. The night staff member who answered sounded concerned, promised to investigate, and said someone would get back to us. No one ever did. At checkout, the receptionist was aware of the incident but offered only a cursory apology. When we mentioned the poor dinner experience and the bartender's attitude, she said that we should have complained to the bartender or manager at the time. The overall impression was that the responsibility somehow rested with us rather than the hotel. We chose this hotel because of its convenient airport location, but convenience alone does NOT make up for poor service, indifferent staff, and a complete lack of follow-up when serious issues arise. We will not be staying here again.

The reception team was great, very helpful and patient. It was busy and they always had a smile. Room left much to be desired. We booked a family room, amenities were for two people (had to request more cups/glasses/towels). Sofa bed was a nightmare from the 80’s it needs to be changed (unsteady, squeaky) also bedding was lacking (sheet stopped short) Location great when using the airport, we have stayed here before( normal room), so felt confident in expected quality/location/service

Stayed here for first time with husband and little girl ahead of weeks holiday using Manchester Airport and was a truly great experience. The restaurant had great staff, resolved a minor issue re steak cooking quickly and we absolutely loved the kids station where it was served buffet style and can help yourself and - save having hungry and tired kids. The room was great quality and the reception staff helpful and friendly. Thank you for the cookie at 4am for my little one, a nice touch. The shuttle service was fantastic and very efficient. Drivers on both journeys were great. Parking was plentiful and very useful to pay for duration of holiday Highly recommend and will do again next year!
