About The Crown & Anchor
Manchester's cultural landmarks, transport links and a broad choice of pubs, bars and restaurants are all within easy reach of The Crown & Anchor on Hilton Street, making it a handy base for exploring the city on foot. Golf and watersports are also listed nearby for those wanting to venture a little further.
Rooms are en-suite and family options are available, with drinks available in room and free WiFi throughout. The property has its own restaurant and snack bar alongside a garden, and 24 hour reception covers arrivals at any hour. Luggage storage is on hand for early check-ins or late departures, and pets are welcome.
The on-site bar is a particular draw, pouring a good range of taps including well-kept Guinness, with staff generally described as friendly and cheerful. It gets busy, so those after a quiet drink should expect a good crowd rather than an empty room. There's no parking available at the property, so guests arriving by car should plan accordingly.

Enjoyed a pint here whilst visiting Manchester for a conference. This pub has changed a lot since I was a student in Manchester 35 years ago. Nevertheless it was still a pleasant experience and great to see that the area around it has been developed into a thriving community. A great pint of beer in comfortable surroundings and friendly staff. Will try not to leave it 35 years before I return again!

Accomodation-wise, this place is absolutely not recommandable. If shower were working, you could not expect a single drop of warm water. Bathrooms were dirty. The bed and the mattress were good. The last night we've done there, the staff has forgotten to turn off the pub's music. So we had to endure a long-distance noise the whole night... TV was not working at all.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Truly Exceptional Service! As drag queens, we know all too well how rare it can be to receive genuinely respectful and thoughtful service when we travel for our work. That’s why our experience here stood out so much — the manager and two cleaners went above and beyond to make sure we felt not only welcome, but celebrated. They helped us with our bags, checked we had everything we needed, and even left us goodie bags with fresh towels and bottled water. The attention to detail and care they showed made us feel comfortable, safe, and truly valued. Hospitality like this makes such a difference, and we are so grateful for the kindness, respect, and professionalism we received. They turned our stay into something really special, and we would recommend them without hesitation! 🌟 WE WILL BE BACK 💕
