About The Mitre Hotel

Step into a room at The Mitre Hotel and you'll find comfortable beds and, in most cases, an en-suite bathroom, though some rooms share facilities, so it's worth checking when you book. Family rooms are available, along with drinks in the room and room service for anyone who'd rather not leave. Maintenance is a little uneven across the 39 rooms, so standards can vary from one to the next.

Downstairs there's a restaurant and bar serving food and drinks, including a Sunday roast that guests single out as particularly good, plus kids' meals and breakfast to start the day. Outdoor seating and a garden give extra space to sit out, while meeting rooms and wedding facilities make the hotel a option for events as well as overnight stays. Staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful, and concierge services and luggage storage are on hand for practical needs.

The location, right by Manchester Cathedral, puts guests within easy reach of the city centre and its transport links, with pubs, restaurants and entertainment nearby. Parking isn't on site but chargeable parking nearby offers discounted rates for hotel guests.

Went here on Saturday before an event at the Cathedral, attended with 2 friends, one of whom has a disability. Requested an accessible table. Staff were fantastic - pleasant, chatty and attentive. We had the small plates offer, 5 for £30. Which were delicious and more than enough for the 3 of us. Also had a good offer on the aperol spritz, which was a bonus. Would definitely return and recommend.

The Mitre Hotel Manchester — a really lovely stay overall. Very comfortable, with genuinely excellent staff who made the experience. Amenities are fairly basic, but everything you actually need is there. The only downside was the shower—pretty woeful—but it’s an old building, so this was somewhat understandable. Forewarned is forearmed 😊. The location is a standout: perfectly quaint and picturesque, right in the heart of beautiful Gothic and Tudor architecture. And the place has a wonderful vibey cosmopolitan feel outside with a superb buzz on a gloriously sunny day. Just spitting distance from great places to eat, shopping, the station, and AO Arena. Would happily stay again.

This is a 200+ year old hotel, so one would do well to temper expectations of the room facilities themselves. But the wonderful hospitality and absolutely prime location more than make up for this. We loved our time in Manc and will happily stay here againthe next time we're in.

Great location for the shops, being City centre it was quite noisey but thats to be expected. Rooms basic but had everything you needed and was clean. Breakfast was fabulous and was included in the price if you book direct with them. Staff lovely and helpful. Travelled with my child and felt safe here. Would book again!
