About Wild Camping Wiltshire
This off-grid site in the North Wessex Downs AONB delivers an almost-wild camping experience with car-free pitches that preserve a proper sense of escape. You'll find spacious, private spots ideal for stargazing under genuinely dark skies, with the gentle hum of wildlife for company rather than traffic. The friendly owners keep facilities thoughtfully maintained—composting toilets, hot showers, and a washing-up area with hot water strike a good balance between comfort and the back-to-basics ethos.
Walking paths lead straight from your pitch into the surrounding downland, and there's a pub within easy reach for those evenings when cooking over your campfire (allowed here) feels like too much effort. It's a solid choice for families and dog owners seeking something more rustic than your typical commercial campground, though be aware there's no WiFi or chemical disposal if those are dealbreakers.

What visitors say
What a gem of a campsite and a wonderful experience. Website, booking and App were all spot on, straight forward and simple. Louise was a great host, and it's great to support honest hard working family businesses. Facilities are all you need, the basics, but given the ethos of the site, very well executed. The hot/cold shower was a blessing. Fire pits and wood for cooking too. We were a group of 4 cyclists, the area is great for a bit of gravel and canal/road work. The star gazing was off the scale ;) Highly recommended, we will be back. Thank you Louise and Chris.

Aw this place! Absolutely stunning. The hosts Louise and Chris were so kind and informative. The compost toliet was so clean and they even have a shower, and a female only toliet. Along with all the basic resources you may need. The birds of prey fly directly over you, we saw and heard woodpeckers, red kites, buzzards and kestrel’s. The sky was crystal clear so we stayed up star gazing. My son was at his absolute happiest. A short cycle away is a canal and endless amounts of walks. A real hidden gem that I would recommend anyone to book, I wish we had more time here! Thanks so much for having us.

Such a wonderful spot for camping. Fabulous location, peaceful, stunning countryside, great walks and one of the best campsites we’ve been to. Louise and Chris are brilliant hosts and have worked really hard at offering a campsite that is restful and welcoming. Due to having an old dog, our walks were short and we wish we’d had more opportunity to explore. Instead we relaxed around the site and soaked up the atmosphere. We left feeling very chilled. The toilets and bathrooms are basic but clean, the washing up area is a lovely space with seats close by. The meadow itself is gorgeous and the pitches are a good size with plenty of space between. We will be back!

Probably the most beautiful place I've stayed at throughout the whole UK. I was lucky enough to have all the place for myself (no one else at the camp for that day) and with clear wheather. The camp is as calm and peaceful as no other and I managed to spot many species of wildlife (Red kite, Barn owl, wild hare and many small birds). The owner is also very kind and welcoming. All and all the best wild camping experience I had in the uk!
