October Cottage works well for couples, families with young children, or small groups of four. The thatched cottage stands alone in its grounds near a hamlet between Salisbury and Marlborough, with an enclosed garden where dogs are welcome. It's a Grade II listed building with a private drive for one car.
Two bedrooms sleep four: one with a double bed, one with two singles. The bathroom has a bath and toilet. Downstairs, the living and dining space includes a TV and wood-effect electric heater, while the kitchen is equipped for proper cooking, with electric cooker, microwave, fridge, washing machine and tumble dryer. Bed linen, electricity, Wi-Fi and parking are included. A cot is available if needed. The enclosed patio has garden furniture.
The property suits visitors exploring the Wiltshire downs and wider region—Savernake Forest, Stonehenge, Longleat, Stourhead Gardens, Bath and Winchester are all within an hour's drive. A pub serving food is half a mile away and a shop two miles. There are steep and narrow stairs at the property. No smoking indoors.
