Mortimer Cottage

Mortimer Cottage is a Grade II listed thatched property in Wootton Rivers, a village five miles from Marlborough. Built as two cottages originally, it retains period character with low ceilings and steep stairs to the first floor. The ground floor holds a kitchen with induction hob, electric oven, dishwasher and microwave, a separate dining area with breakfast bar, a sitting room with woodburner, utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer, and a walk-in shower room. Two bedrooms sleep five: the main has a kingsize bed and ensuite roll-top bath, while the second (accessed through the first) contains twin beds. A day bed on the landing suits a child. Electricity, WiFi, bed linen and towels are included, along with on-site parking for two small cars.

The rear courtyard garden has furniture and a small amount of outdoor space. One dog is welcome. The cottage does not suit children under six. The location suits those wanting a quiet base within reach of Marlborough's amenities and the Kennet and Avon Canal; Towpath Tails Dog Park is nearby for walkers. No smoking is permitted inside.
