About The Kingsbury

The Kingsbury occupies a 17th-century building just off Marlborough's High Street at 8 Kingsbury Street, run as two connected boutique properties known as No 7even and 8ight. Guestrooms are individually designed with a mix of period features and contemporary furnishings, each aiming for its own distinct character rather than a matching hotel-style layout.

The property is set up for independent, flexible stays, with keyless entry allowing guests to arrive and leave on their own schedule, and breakfast delivered to the room rather than served in a communal dining room. Dogs are welcome, making it a practical choice for visitors combining a town stay with walks in Savernake Forest or on the Marlborough Downs.

Its central position means the High Street's shops, cafes and restaurants, including the town's well-known seafood restaurant, are all within a short walk, while the quieter setting of Kingsbury Street keeps the rooms away from the busiest part of the town centre.

Used as overnight stay while cycling King Alfred's Way. Lovely spot. Found it a bit chilly but there was extra throws and I didn't bother with turning on the rads. Shower and bathroom spot on with premium feel shower liquids. The fridge is a noisy bugger and woke me during the night resulting in a bad sleep. The rooms a beautifully styled and furnished. The food supplied was spot on a mix of Madeleine's, panetone along with fresh milk in the fridge and overnight oats with muesli. A coffee pod machine provides good coffee.

These rooms are fabulous. Beds are so comfortable. The little continental was a cute touch. The fact all doors have codes so there isn't a need to carry around huge sets of keys was the best bit.

My wife and I stayed her for two nights in October. The floor boards were creaky. The floor was not flat. The roof was low in places. The furniture was old and distressed. The stairs were steep. The rooms were quirky. But we loved it ! Great in room breakfast. More than enough. May stay again. Thanks.

The room has all the character you would expect from a building built in the 1600's. The bed is comfortable and the continental breakfast in the room is very varied.
