Downstairs are two bedrooms—one with a zip-and-link super king bed, one with a double—and a shower room. Upstairs, the living space is open plan, with kitchen, dining and sitting areas all flowing together, a woodburner for cooler evenings, and a smart TV. The essentials come covered: electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi. The kitchen has an electric cooker, dishwasher and microwave, so you can cook properly or keep things simple. Initial fuel for the woodburner is included.

One dog is welcome at no extra cost and can use the enclosed front garden, which has seating and a barbecue. Parking for two cars is on site. There's an eight-step entrance, and a travel cot, highchair and stairgate are available if you ask. The property is non-smoking. From here, Exmoor National Park, the Grand Western Canal, RHS Rosemoor and the Two Moors Way are all within reach; Devon's north coast (with its beaches) is roughly an hour away, and the Jurassic Coast slightly less.
