About Valleyside Escapes
Tucked into the Devon countryside near Bickleigh, Valleyside Escapes offers three ensuite safari tents that make a comfortable base for exploring the region. Each tent comes with its own facilities, so there's no trudging to a shared shower block, and they're all dog-friendly – perfect if you're travelling with four-legged companions. WiFi keeps you connected when needed, and the family-friendly setup suits those travelling with children.
The five-star Google rating reflects guests who've appreciated the peaceful setting and thoughtful touches, though this is very much a small, intimate site rather than somewhere with extensive facilities or entertainment. Very friendly. Emma was very accomodating to my two kids, wife and I. The location is beautiful: rolling hills and bird tweeting around us. The log burner was quick to warm up and easy to use. Hot water in the shower that stayed hot for a while. I liked being with an hour of various places. Nice to be able to pop down to the bar on our first night. I'd definitely come back.

Absolutely amazing place to stay if you after camping with some class! The site itself is spacious and peaceful. Emma was super helpful and recommended areas of interest. The walk in the forest/woods along the is worth it though we lost track of time and walked all the way into town (around 2 hours walk each way) Would 100% return and highly recommended!

My family and I had a great time at Valleyside Escapes. The safari tent was perfect & my son loved the cabin bed with nook underneath. The fact that it had its own toilet & shower was a real bonus as we don’t enjoy having to walk to a toilet block if you need the loo in the night!! Emma & Matt were great hosts. They decorated our tent & made cakes for out children’s birthdays. The games room was fab as we love a game of pool. A walk down to the stream is a must as it is so beautiful down there. Breakfast at Bickleigh Mill was delicious & I spent a long time in the shop! Hope to return with friends in the future.

We had a lovely few days in Oak tent. Emma was a fantastic host and put on an easter egg hunt for the kids, encouraging them to explore the fields between the rainstorms. The tent is brilliantly well equipped and felt really snug with the woodburner, hot water bottles and generous bedding. Even with a gale blowing and heavy rain we felt snug as bugs. Great location with lots to do on the doorstep, and the Exe Valley path runs right through the farm leading you to beautiful countryside without the need to even cross a road. The kids loved wading in the river and throwing stones. Brilliant all round, thanks so much.
