Coot Roundhouse is a single circular room at Ponsford Ponds, a fishing complex just outside Cullompton in Mid Devon. Everything happens on one floor: a combined bedroom, kitchen, dining and living space, plus a shower room. The bed is a zip-and-link super kingsize that splits into twin singles on request. Floor-to-ceiling windows and a decked terrace with garden furniture face the lake.
You get a kitchenette with a two-ring hob, combi microwave and fridge to cook with. A Smart TV, comfortable seating and a dining table fill the living area. Wifi, electricity, bed linen and towels are included. There is unfenced water beside the lodge, and the water supply comes from a borehole on site. Parking for one car is on the grounds.
The main draw is fishing: you have private access to the stocked pond beside the roundhouse (carp to 10lb, plus bream, roach, rudd and perch), and an additional specimen pond with larger carp 220 yards away. The Blackdown Hills lie nearby. Cullompton town centre is five minutes' drive, Exeter cathedral city twenty minutes, and the M5 motorway ten minutes. Adults only.

Lovely location. Utterly serene. Perfect for a relaxed break minutes from the motorway and you can't hear it at all. Just beautiful. Owners David and Suzanna are a joy.

We stayed in Jack's Hut , lovely secluded Shepherds hut with all mod cons and a hot tub. Several other huts spread out over the location. Butterleigh Inn under an hour walk away, with great food and drink.

We had a relaxing weekend away. The kingfisher lodge was very clean and tidy. We had so many fish from the lakes and they were all in excellent condition. Loved the hot tub. We will be back again.

Me and my wife stayed in the mallard round house from 29th aug to 1st sept for a quite get away break for her birthday And we loved it . Beautiful place and accommodation was top draw . Also the fishing was an added little bonus . Like a lot of people I spend a lot of time on selected carp waters chasing the perfect fish so this was never about the fishing . And as David the owner said it’s not sold as an out and out carp venue it’s a holiday retreat with a little bit of fishing to complement the stay and it did just that , although don’t think you’ll just pub chuck and bag up on all the ponds . But with a bit of thinking you can have some lovely fish . I had several fish and one cracking mirror knocking on the door of 24lb that I’d be happy to catch anywhere and the wife even had a few small but fun fish . Lovely to meet you David and thank you for letting us stay in your beautiful place Tony and Ashleigh jarvis
