The Dairy Barn
Mid Devon
This converted barn retains character from its agricultural past—hand-crafted sliding doors and an old oak breakfast counter anchor the interior. Everything sits on one level: open-plan living space, a small but functional kitchenette, and a bedroom with a king-size bed positioned to frame the night sky through a dedicated window. The barn lies within the International Dark Skies Reserve, a genuine advantage if stargazing matters to you.
The location straddles Mid Devon and the coast; beaches are within 30 minutes' drive either north or south, and the Jurassic Coast is roughly 45 minutes away. Inland, the Blackdown Hills Area of Natural Beauty and local heritage sites—castles, museums, historic houses—offer alternative days out. The property sits close to the M5 at junction 27, making it work as a base for exploring the region or a convenient stop between Bristol and Cornwall. Electricity, bed linen and towels are included. No smoking.
