West Middlewick Farm - Otter

Photo: West Middlewick Farm

West Middlewick Farm – Otter is a single-storey lodge on a 120-acre working farm in rural Mid Devon, a short drive from Tiverton. The property sleeps six across three bedrooms: one double with an ensuite, and two further rooms with single beds each. There's also a separate shower room. Everything happens on the ground floor, with an open-plan living and dining space that opens onto an enclosed lawned garden with patio and furniture—useful if you're bringing a dog, as one is welcome here free of charge (though the farm keeps sheep, so dogs must stay on leads).

The kitchen is equipped for proper cooking: electric oven, microwave, dishwasher and fridge-freezer. A woodburner warms the living area on cooler days, and the TV offers Freeview. Electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are all included. The farm has shared laundry facilities and 120 acres of woodland and grounds to explore; coarse fishing is available for an additional cost. You'll need to be aware of a fenced lake 300 yards away. Parking on site accommodates three cars, and check-in is after 15:00 with departure by 10:00. No smoking indoors.

We stayed here at the weekend and what a lovely location it is. Reasonably priced stay (we camped), the location makes the price well deserved. Staff are very accommodating e.g. sold us some oat milk from their restaurant when we didn't have any, little things like that. The restaurant itself has lovely food freshly sourced! Staff around the working farm also very accommodating, giving children carrots to feed the animals. Being surrounded by their lovely animals and a host of lovely walks makes you not even want to leave the campsite. Would recommend this camp site to anyone!

What a wonderful friendly place to stay! Beautiful farm shop with the most delicious treats. We got to meet the new born calves which the kids loved. They enjoyed the little play park and the open space to play too. Overall a great place to stay if you’re looking for something laid back and friendly
