The Milking Parlour

Mid Suffolk

View on Google Maps

Mid Suffolk's rolling countryside sets the tone for a stay at The Milking Parlour, a converted farm building on Brook House farm near Ipswich. The single-storey layout means no stairs to navigate; inside, a high vaulted ceiling and oak parquet flooring run throughout an open-plan living space that feels both spacious and intimate. Large bi-folding doors from the kitchen and bedroom open directly onto a private west-facing garden with views across the adjacent fields.

Everything happens on one level. The living area has a woodburner and smart TV; the kitchen is fully equipped for cooking, with an electric oven, induction hob, dishwasher and microwave. The bedroom contains a king-size bed, and the bathroom has both a bath and walk-in shower. Air source heating and underfloor heating keep the place warm, along with initial fuel for the stove. Wi-Fi, bed linen, towels and electricity are all included. There is parking for two cars on site, and an electric vehicle charging point is available by arrangement with the owner.

The garden itself is planted with raised beds and furnished with reclining chairs. This is a no-smoking property, suitable for two people seeking a quiet base for exploring the Suffolk coast and heaths, whether on foot, by bike or by car. Arrival is after 16:00 and departure before 10:00.

Amazing space, finished to a very high standard. Super comfy bed, lovely warm underfloor heating, and a cozy fireplace. Huge kitchen, and stocked with everything you would need. Very private, with a view over the lovely green grass of the adjacent cow pasture. Perfect bolt hole for a weekend getaway!
