The Old Stables is a converted barn set within seven acres of grounds near Stowmarket, surrounded by farmland and countryside. The building contains two bedrooms on the first floor—each with zip-and-link beds that convert from doubles to singles—and a bathroom with bath and shower. Downstairs, a living room with open fire opens onto a kitchen/dining area with electric cooker and microwave, and there is a separate toilet. The property is your own for the duration of your stay.
Outside, the enclosed garden has patio seating and furniture, and guests have exclusive use of a private hot tub. Parking for two cars is available on site, and there is a cycle store. The owners provide bed linen and towels, WiFi, electricity, and a welcome pack. A cot is available if needed. One well-behaved pet is welcome. The kitchen is equipped for self-catering, and a shared utility room contains a washing machine and tumble dryer.
Stowmarket itself lies ten miles away and offers the Museum of East Anglian Life, a range of shops and restaurants, and direct train connections to London. Bury St Edmunds, with its cathedral and Georgian theatre, is also nearby. The rural location makes it a sound base for walking, cycling and bird watching, though the market towns and villages of Suffolk are all within reasonable distance. No smoking throughout.
