What visitors say
Driving from Bedfordshire to Campbelltown and decided to stop off here for a break. A good decision, lovely location and loads of shrubs in flower, also National Trust membership is accepted here. A nice cafe as well.

Amazing gardens, beautiful rhododendron collection. Amazing to see the ancient cairn too. Lots of nice paths, although we didn't realise it'd be so hilly - hard to tell from a map, so be warned if you're bringing someone with limited mobility.

Beautiful Garden well worth a visit if you are in the area. Quite steep at some sections but well worth the walk for the amazing collection of trees.

Lovingly restored and maintained Crarae Woodland Garden was looking exceptionally handsome in mid May. Drifts of bluebells, campions and rhododendron/ azalea mid blossom season. There is a well provisioned café at the entrance. The café does excellent coffee and had warm scones when we arrived. The woodland is laid out on a steep hillside Above the Edwardian Housing garden. The Woodland boasts of having many champion trees . There is a gorge to one side, with bridges that give good views up and down the gorge. The sound of water was soothing topped off with lots of bird song. The negatives about the garden should not deter the visitor or detract from the experience of visiting. The Woodland is set on a steep hillside and in the middle of the site there is a wide gravel path up to the top. The majority of the paths are to the left and right of the main pathway and they have steps. The steps are new and very well laid out. However, there are no handrails and it would be quite difficult for somebody with poor balance to manage those steps. Anyone daunted by the prospect of steps or steepness would do well to use to walking poles. It would be a pity to go all that way and then not be able to see the many fine trees and handsome views across Loch Fyne.
