Three Creeks Cottage takes its name from the small coastal inlets at the end of the road—a detail that captures something of Portknockie itself, a genuine working fishing village rather than a resort town. The cottage sits a few paces from the shoreline, with the beach within easy reach and the award-winning fish and chip shop nearby for suppers you don't have to cook yourself.
The whole property is yours, with everything on one level: a living room with a wood-burning stove, a kitchen equipped for proper cooking, a bedroom with a kingsize bed, a second bedroom with two singles, and a walk-in shower. Outside is a paved garden with seating where you can sit and listen to the sea. Wi-Fi, heating, bed linen and towels are included. On-road parking is available, and the cottage is non-smoking.
Portknockie suits walkers and those drawn to dramatic coastline. The Moray Firth is known for dolphins; boat trips run from Buckie, about 4 miles away. Cullen, 2 miles in the other direction, is worth the drive. There are golf courses within reach if that interests you. Most evenings, the hotel in the village serves food, or you can cook in the well-stocked kitchen.
