Barvas sits on Lewis's Atlantic coast, a quiet hamlet where the landscape opens towards beaches and prehistoric sites. Seaview is a detached house on the main street, sleeping seven across four bedrooms—two doubles, one zip-and-link twin, and a single—with two bathrooms between them. The ground floor holds a living room with woodburner and Freeview TV, plus a kitchen equipped for proper cooking: electric oven, gas hob, dishwasher and all the usual kit. Essentials including heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi come as standard; there's an initial supply of logs for the stove, and parking for three cars on site.
The location makes sense for exploring the island. Stornoway, the capital, is close by with its castle grounds, museum and restaurants. Heading north, you'll find Clach an Trushal—Scotland's tallest standing stone—and the Callanish Standing Stones visitor centre. Dun Carloway broch and the Norse Mill are within reach, as is the Blackhouse museum in Arnol. The coastline around here draws people for its light and scale; beaches and coastal walks are minutes away, and there's a playpark in the dunes up towards Ness lighthouse. Barvas itself has a local shop for basics and hot food on weekday mornings, plus a post office. The property sits on the main street with front and back gardens; the garden has three steps. No smoking indoors.
