About The Galson Campsite
Perched on the wild Atlantic edge near South Galson, this year-round campsite offers a windswept but wonderfully remote base for exploring the Outer Hebrides. Electric hook-ups and decent facilities—showers, toilets, drinking water—keep things comfortable, while WiFi keeps you connected even at this far-flung latitude. Dogs are welcome, making it a good choice for families touring with four-legged friends.
The landscape here is all big skies, machair grassland and empty beaches, ideal for walkers craving solitude and photographers chasing Hebridean light. It's straightforward rather than luxurious, but that suits the setting: this is a place to wake to Atlantic gales and fall asleep to the sound of surf, not spa treatments.

What visitors say
Stunning location. Only 4 berths all level and with electric. Site has chemical toilet.disposal and grey water disposal, however this is designed for those with waste carriers and not motorhomes. There is two toilets, both of them are clean and one is a wet room with a shower. However, be warned. The shower is not very powerful. One thing missing is a washing machine. We had a lovely stay at this site. It's well situated n the northern end of the island. We would stay again.

We only stopped here to use the shower and fill up with fresh water, as the campervan bays were already full. Both services were available for the suggested donation, which we thought was a great idea. Everything was clean and easy to use. A really useful service for travellers – thank you!

Brilliant, quiet place. Lovely loos and showers. Camp kitchen. Very modern, clean. Only think 5 pitches. Level, hard standing. 100% recommendation

Whether you like this campsite depends on your expectations. The facilities of 2 toilets and a washup room for 4 pitches seems a good ratio. Everything is 2 years old and very clean. Just beware the password for the wifi is buried in the Accessibility file sent with your booking confirmation.
