About Overwater Luxury Glamping

Romance may well be in the air at Overwater Luxury Glamping – tucked alongside an old railway cutting and Overwater Marina, this Cheshire hideaway is perfectly set up for couples seeking a little luxury. Each cabin comes with a comfy bed, well-equipped kitchen, ensuite bathroom and heater, but the real indulgence is outside: your own woodfired hot tub (logs provided), plus a private patio with atmospheric lighting, a love seat and a chiminea for starlit evenings. The peaceful waterside location rewards you with lovely views over the marina and fishing lakes, while the Shropshire Union Canal towpath leads to Audlem in twenty minutes – just right for a pub lunch.

Guests rave about the spotless facilities and genuinely friendly welcome, and the on-site café serves tempting home-made cakes and hot meals when you fancy a treat. Pre-order champagne, chocolates or roses if you're celebrating something special. It's a genuinely romantic spot, though at peak times the café can get busy – worth bearing in mind if you're planning a lazy morning pastry.

We are currently staying on the touring caravan area and are very impressed and enjoying our stay. It’s very well organised with plenty of space on and between hard standing pitches. Pitches are fully serviced on the main site area. Reception staff are helpful and friendly. Lovely walk around the marina and along the canal path into Audlem. Also volunteers run a taxi boat which takes you to and from the site to Audlem. They also have a boat adapted for wheelchair users. Highly recommend this place for a relaxing stay

We stayed on the touring site in April 2026, during the Easter holidays (just after the Easter weekend). We found a very well-kept site with nice, level pitches that are nicely spaced out. The grounds are really well kept, too. There's good access from the site to the canal, and Audlem is about a 20–30 minute walk; I clocked it at 1.5 miles from pitch 8 (by the time you've walked either through or around the marina to the towpath). The reception staff were lovely on our arrival—very welcoming and accommodating. The toilet blocks were immaculately clean, although the showers could be better, as the one I used in the lower toilet block ran for literally two seconds and then needed to be reset. Whilst I appreciate they cannot be set to run indefinitely, two seconds is not a realistic timeframe to take a shower. Also, keep in mind the pitch-to-washroom ratio seems a little low. There are over 30 pitches to just 4 washrooms, with a couple more at reception. If you factor in that these are shared with the moorings too, it seems quite low, and indeed, there's no chance of getting a free shower during peak times. The cafe offers nice food; we had the breakfast and my wife had a toastie. However, it seemed to be an "order at the counter" type service (we waited and no one came to take our order), and the staff didn't seem overly friendly (nor were they rude, to be clear). We probably would not rush back to the café, and instead would make the small hike to Audlem and visit the pubs there. All in all, this would have been a five-star review but for the limited facilities and café experience.

Brilliant place. I've enjoyed swimming 🏊‍♀️ there as well as launching my paddleboard board to explore the Albert Docks! Lovely staff, as well as really friendly vibe- everyone using the facility was kind and helpful. Felt very safe.

I stayed in Hodnet glamping cabin for 1 week to visit my cousin, Suzanne Miller who is warden and it was sooo lovely to stay somewhere idyllic, clean and tidy. Hot tub was lush and even saw the owl in first night, which was added bonus as never seen an owl in wild. Also got to see the 2 baby cygnets with mum and dad, which wss beautiful. The staff are soo friendly and welcoming and Lauren in Cafe made me a dairy free cherry bakwell cake and it was AMAZING, thank u Lauren. I was soo impressed i extended my stay. I highly recommend this for a fab place to stay. Thank u cousin and Overwater x
