Caravan and motorhome site near New Abbey with electric hook-ups and showers.
About Criffel View Caravan Site
Criffel View Caravan Site takes caravans and motorhomes on pitches with electric hook-ups. Showers are available on site. The location is within reach of New Abbey, a village in Dumfries and Galloway with a ruined abbey at its heart—the remains of a Cistercian monastery founded in the 13th century and still impressive to walk around.
The site itself sits within view of Criffel, the distinctive hill that dominates the landscape here. Beyond the immediate area, Dumfries and Galloway has coastline at the Solway Firth to the south, woodland walks, and various lochs. New Abbey itself has the abbey and a corn mill that visitors can tour, plus a handful of pubs and shops to supply basic needs.

What visitors say
Just spent 6 nights at this fabulous site. The pitches are a really good size and the facilities are lovely and spotlessly clean. Friendly and helpful owners are on hand to explain everything. Handy for 7 stanes MTB centres and the bike wash was a great bonus. Spot on!

An absolutely outstanding site — beautifully maintained with stunning surroundings and a warm, genuinely welcoming host. Exceptional value for money. The facilities are spotless, with powerful hot showers and everything you could possibly need. Thoughtful extras are everywhere, from the dedicated dog wash to the bike and boot wash, all finished with lovely touches that make the place feel special. Each pitch has its own water and grey‑waste point, plus there’s a convenient drive‑over grey‑waste area if you need it. The black‑waste service point is easy to access and the whole layout is incredibly well designed. The secure dog‑walking area is a real bonus, and the collection of beautifully aged tractors adds unexpected charm. A truly well‑thought‑out and memorable place to stay.

Beautiful, tranquil, small campsite. Large pitches. All amenities. Fantastic showers. Dog walk, viewpoint from which you can see the abbey. Vintage tractors. Lots of different birdsong.

Stayed with motorhome and was not disappointed. Showers and toilets are spotless, and the pitch is perfect and private with beautiful views of hills and Abbey. Extra bonuses are dog friendly, fenced off field, dish wash station, water and power, and waste disposal areas. Wifi is also available. Would highly recommend. Colin and Sandra are wonderful hosts who are on hand if you need any help. Would highly recommend a stay.
