White Wing comes with everything needed for self-catering: a fully fitted kitchen with electric cooker, dishwasher and washing machine; bed linen and towels; heating and wi-fi throughout. The ground floor holds the living room with a sofa bed (double) and entertainment, plus the kitchen-diner. Upstairs is a galleried bedroom with a double bed and a single bed for flexible sleeping. The bathroom has a bath with shower and a bath seat. One dog is welcome at no extra cost, and there is private parking for two cars on site.

The cottage is part of The Compasses Inn, a 400-year-old pub opposite and serving food and real ales; the village green is within reach for walks. Fordingbridge sits 3 miles from the New Forest, with Damerham's Norman church, fisheries and cycling routes nearby. Salisbury, Kingston Lacy, Bournemouth and Poole are all within day-trip distance. The property has steep and narrow stairs. Smoking is not permitted.

Really lovely staff (Georgie) at check in. Room was clean, bed was comfy, shower hot and powerful and the towels soft fluffy and large. Room decoration/furnishing inline with room price. Enjoyed sitting in the garden with a beer in the late afternoon sun. Had dinner there which was excellent. Great cooked breakfast (cooked to order so hot!) and decent coffee. Plenty of parking space. All good.

Really tasty food and a lovely pub which was a surprise as I didn't expect to eat here as was just staying for the night. Room and bed were comfortable but nothing special, unlike the food

Visited for the music as DamJam were playing. Had a great evening in the beer garden at this fabulous local pub. Seems like it is very well run by a family who clearly care. Will definitely come back to try the food and see more live music

HIDDEN GEM!!! The most delicious Nepalese food! We had the chicken wings with the most incredible freshly made sauce and the Himali curries. Honestly so fresh and flavourful. We drove half hour for this and already planning to return again this week. Lovely garden outside to sit in and friendly staff. We came on a Sunday with reduced Nepalese menu and can’t wait to come back and try the full menu! This is a must visit.

Diners like this pub's delicious Nepalese cuisine, including flavorful curries and hearty full English breakfasts, along with a good selection of real ales. They also highlight the friendly and attentive staff, comfortable and clean rooms, and ample parking.

Some reviews mention building areas can be neglected.
