What visitors say

A beautiful, peaceful park with lovely walking trails, a picturesque river, and plenty of greenery. Perfect for a relaxing walk or a family day out. Highly recommended!

Jesmond Dene - as a Heaton local the dene is a regular haunt, unfortunately the Ouseburn which runs through it is nothing more than an open sewer, devoid of aquatic life, an ecological crime scene due to the repeated unwarranted sewage pollution spanning 10 years by the regional water company Northumbrian Water. It seems like Newcastle City Parks have abandoned any responsibility of custodianship for the maintenance and upkeep, the burn is becoming a litter bin of fallen trees, Fisherman's Lodge a burnt out dilapidated scar, damaged stone walls, collapsed fencing, closed river bridges and paths. Beware the patrolling traffic wardens over the weekend always ready to pounce while you visit this neglected corner of Newcastle.

A really nice family friendly and dog friendly walk. Different routes for different ability levels, spots for a picnic and a cafe.

Very nice area for people to take walks through to other parks nearby. A lovely pets area with parrots, birds, peacock and other animals. Looking forward to visiting the food market which is on the Jesmond Dene bridge two Saturdays per month
