About Kilbirnie Hotel

The Kilbirnie Hotel is a substantial property on Narrowcliff in Newquay, built with enough scale to hold 66 rooms alongside a good spread of leisure facilities. It's the kind of place designed for a proper stay rather than a quick overnight, with an outdoor pool and an indoor pool, a gym, and a bar and outdoor seating area for taking in the sea views.

Rooms come en-suite, with family and accessible options available, and each has drinks provided. Wi-Fi is free throughout, and a lift serves the building. Some guests have found the rooms can pick up noise, worth bearing in mind if you're a light sleeper. The restaurant serves breakfast and dinner with a wide choice on the menu, and the staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful. On-site parking and a laundry service add practical convenience, and pets are welcome.

Newquay's coastline and beaches are close by, and the hotel is well placed for cycling, walking, fishing, watersports and golf, with horse riding also within reach. Pubs and restaurants nearby offer further options beyond the hotel's own kitchen, and there's entertainment nearby for evenings out. It suits guests wanting a base with facilities on hand rather than a boutique bolt-hole.

Had a great stay in February, hotel was really clean and looked well maintained, our room had recently been redone with new furniture. We stayed with our dog and he was well catered for ,we were not able to take him in restaurant for breakfast but a table was made up in bar area for us which was fine. Lady on reception when we arrived was Very helpful with info on places dog friendly for evening meals in area as restaurant was not open in evening as hotel very quiet. Our one criticism was that the pool was a bit cool and would have been better a couple of degrees warmer, other people in pool also commented. All in all a good stay good location ,friendly and a good price.

The room was lovely, spacious with a comfy bed. The check in lady was lovely. The lady in reception in the evening wasn’t so much. Nice having a pool to use but in desperate need of renovating. Smoke alarms went off at 3.30am and then 8.30am. When we asked about this apparently they are really sensitive and can go off if someone has a too hot shower! Can hear pipes rattling and banging all the time, every time someone flushed or ran taps. Gap under the room door meaning light coming in during the night from the corridor. Walls paper thin and can hear everything from other rooms and the corridors. Parking in site is handy but found the £8 charge excessive considering you’re paying to stop at the hotel. Fair enough charging if you’re a non resident. Okay for a night but wouldn’t return.

Booked to stay here for 1 night with work. Room is as hot as a sauna, don't know how they expect guests to sleep. I'm somebody that tolerates hear we'll but it's simply unbearable. Asked if I could move rooms but just told they are full. Yes, the rest of the country is having a heatwave but in Newquay area the max today is mid twenties and its currently evening and late teens, cool enough for trousers outside. I've travelled all over the world and this is the hottest room I've ever experienced, so I would not recommend staying there to anyone in the summer.

The ceck in was smooth and quick, staff very well trained, helpfull and friendly, making us feel welcomed. From the entrance to the narrowest corner, everything was spotless clean. Room was large, well equiped, bed was very confy, bathroom had anything I needed and was fresh&clean. I travelled tue to my job but this hotel would pe a perfect choice for a holiday. 5 stars from me and if I vould have the oportunity to come back in Cornwall, I eould definetly choose this location.
