About Reef Lodge

Reef Lodge suits travellers after an uncomplicated base in Newquay rather than a resort experience - families on a beach holiday, couples visiting for the surf, or anyone who just needs a comfortable bed within reach of the coast. It's a guest accommodation on Island Crescent, with parking on site and 24 hour reception, so late arrivals and early starts are both easy.

Rooms are kept clean and fitted with en-suite bathrooms, fresh linen and comfortable beds, and family rooms are available for those travelling with children. Each room has drinks available, and free WiFi runs throughout. One practical note: the water pressure in the showers has been reported as on the weaker side, worth bearing in mind if that matters to you. Staff are attentive and check-in is generally quick.

Outside the door there's plenty to fill the days - walking and cycling routes, watersports, fishing, horse riding and a golf course are all nearby, while pubs, restaurants and entertainment venues within easy reach cover the evenings. It's a practical choice for exploring Newquay and the surrounding Cornish coast.

Good location and convenient for our stay. The beds were very comfortable, which made the stay more enjoyable. However, the room had a very strong chemical smell, which was so intense that I struggled to sleep all night. Another issue was that the TV wasn’t working, and as there was nobody available at the time, we couldn’t ask for assistance. One small suggestion would be that the lady looking after the hotel could be a little more welcoming, as a smile and a warmer greeting would make guests feel more at home. Apart from these issues, the location was good, and with a few improvements, the overall experience could be much better.

Great spot for a New Quay escape Reef Lodge Hotel is perfectly placed — a leisurely 5-minute stroll to the beautiful New Quay beach, which makes it an ideal base for exploring the coast. The rooms are clean and well kept, staff are responsive and helpful, and the whole stay is genuinely good value for money. No complaints on what matters most. One honest heads-up for guests — street parking nearby can be a bit of a hunt, so worth planning ahead or checking with the hotel beforehand. Overall, a comfortable, well-run stay in a gorgeous spot. Would happily recommend it. ✅

Nice things first: very close to beach, comfortable beds with fresh linen and clean towels. Now the bad: The rule is no eating in rooms. There is a common room where you can eat but it closes at 10 PM. There is no referigerator in that room only a microwave. You have to pay £50 when you checkin and if you dirty their linen you lose it. Its basically a hostel. When I asked the “hostel warden” why the common room closes at 10 pm when it is mentioned in the rooms that it is available 24/7, his reply was you didn’t pay me enough to keep the room open for longer. They need some friendly people as employees. Not recommended for families. Never going back there again.

I dont know where to begin...the place is so nice and clean...rooms are spacious, lovely view of the sea(and we have a back room and still have a lovely view) TV with WiFi, large bathroom ..its just a lovely place to stay if your a home to home kind of person. Its literally 4 min walk from the beach, from all the local shops bars and restaurants..the staff are so lovely, so accommodating and happy to help or chat at any time of day and night. This will be our new home when visiting newquay %100 and we cant leave out the biscuits in the cuppa tray
