About Garlieston Caravan and Motorhome Club Site
Set on Dumfries and Galloway's quiet coast, this Caravan and Motorhome Club site splits into two distinct areas: one side offers sweeping views over the bay, while a sheltered walled section provides extra seclusion for those seeking total peace. The immaculate facilities—including spotless shower blocks with strong water pressure—earn consistent praise, and the friendly wardens help create a genuinely relaxing atmosphere.
Garlieston village itself remains charmingly low-key, its crescents of whitewashed cottages curving around a harbour now shared by pleasure craft and a handful of working boats. A coastal path leads directly from site to the famous azaleas and rhododendrons of Galloway House Gardens, while Rigg Bay's sandy beach (once used for testing wartime Mulberry Harbours) makes an excellent summer afternoon. The broader Galloway Forest Park—300 square miles of moorland, lochs and mountain tops—lies within easy reach for those wanting wilder walks.

Great campsite for motorhome and caravans, the staff are very approachable and helpful, on site there is showers, toilets, water and Elson points, they have hard standing and grass pitches with amazing sea views, it can get a bit cramped sometimes when busy but certainly worth a stay.

Really enjoyed our recent stay in the walled garden area of the site. This area seems more peaceful and private than the area overlooking the bay. Facilities were spotlessly clean and showers warm and powerful. Great woodland and coastal walks from the site with the mountains of Galloway Forest Park approx 40 minute drive away. Nice pub and cafe overlooking the bay.

Really great site, we were on grass in the walled garden, great pitch. Shower block was great (decent pressure, hairdryer, seperate toilets, showers, sinks) 2 mins walk to the Harbour Inn, fabulous pub. Great service, Dog friendly and great food. Lovely walks from the site. Will definitely return.
