Seascape

Dumfries and Galloway

Dumfries and Galloway's coastline draws people for good reason: the beaches are genuine, the walks run for miles, and the villages feel removed from the usual circuit. Seascape sits within reach of all this, a two-bedroom property positioned to make the most of its seaside setting. One dog travels free, and parking for two cars is on site.

The layout spreads across two floors. Downstairs, an open-plan living space combines kitchen, dining and lounge areas with windows that bring in natural light and views across the water. Upstairs, the master bedroom opens onto a Juliet balcony—the sort of thing you actually use, standing out in the morning or evening to watch the bay change colour. It has an ensuite shower room. A second bedroom holds two single beds, and a family bathroom with bath and shower serves the upper floor. The kitchen is fitted to cook proper meals: electric oven and hob, microwave, and a washing machine for longer stays. Wi-Fi, heating, bed linen and towels are all included.

The village itself offers straightforward pleasures: sandy beaches, coastal paths heading in both directions, and the kind of walks that make you lose track of time. A short drive reaches Newton Stewart if you need independent shops or restaurants beyond what's immediately local. This suits people wanting to base themselves by the sea without fuss, and families who need flexible sleeping arrangements and space to spread out.

Gardens were excellent. That's where the positive end, unfortunately. Took my wife here because she loves the seaside and has recently been diagnosed with sate 4 bowel cancer, so she was just so happy to get away, Ashgrove, we stayed in paid £1300 for the sat to sat. On arrival, we got told we couldn't use the electric car charger unless we paid more (i thought weird, but ok) done walk around, carpets in main bedroom had multiple stains and same in the livingroom carpets. Couch had rips in it. Some had big patches on them. Couldn't lock any of the bathroom doors. The gutter would rattle and shake with the slightest wind, all day and night. The decking was untreated and cracking under your feet. Blind in the main bedroom kept braking and had to fix it almost every day. Jacuzzi was never cleaned for the whole week, and we ended up not using it the last few days as it was cloundy. The pool table looks like the felt has never been changed. the balls kept getting stuck after they were potted, so we had to shake the table. After the week, the guy Mr Johnston attitude was just not great, we unplugged anything we weren't using it just safer, he was huffing and puffing at my son because the tv was unplugged in the room, complained because in his eyes we hadn't hovered enough, he also found a couple of whelks shells that we must have missed. All the dishes were clean, and all towels were in the washing basket for them

A well equipped and very clean home from home. We stayed in Ashgrove and the grounds were much loved by our 2 dogs. Would definitely use again.

Enjoyed a very relaxing week here and house perfect size & layout for our 2 families. The kitchen was very well equipped and the separate utility room was useful. Kids enjoyed the games room but the highlight was the hot tub which we all used over the week, more than once! The bedrooms were good size and there were enough bathrooms for us all. We did enjoy sitting on the decking and watching the sheep. From some of the upstairs windows, there are views of the sea. Only a short walk to the beach and there are nearby pubs, cafes and shops (including the one on the caravan park nearby)
