About Choo Choo Moo

Tucked into the peaceful Waveney Valley near Alburgh, Choo Choo Moo offers something genuinely different: lovingly restored railway carriages transformed into cosy, ensuite glamping retreats. Each carriage comes with its own wood burner—perfect for chilly Norfolk evenings—and the site welcomes dogs, making it an ideal escape for couples seeking a quiet, quirky break away from it all. Open year-round and adults-only, it's the kind of place where you can properly unwind without the usual campsite bustle.

There's no WiFi, which feels entirely appropriate given the setting, and facilities are kept simple but thoughtful—showers, toilets, and drinking water all provided. It's a solid, atmospheric base for exploring the Broads and surrounding countryside, especially if you're after character rather than bells and whistles.

Had a lovely weekend break at Choo Choo Moo and feel fully reset and refreshed. A fantastic location, beautiful views and overall peaceful vibe. The carriage was so cosy and we enjoyed every second of it. It contained everything we needed to have a proper glamping experience and the addition of the private outside bath was a really cool experience, would highly recommend booking the Victorian carriage for that! Richard gave us a lovely welcome and we really enjoyed the cookies and hot chocolate provided, which was much needed after a long drive down! Can't wait to return in the future, hopefully for a little longer so we can explore more of the local hotspots. Thanks again!

Absolute bliss. Warm welcome from Richard and great walking and places to visit tips. An immaculate carriage (Edwardian) and space around it. Lovely places to visit nearby, but also your own decking area with a beautiful view, a swinging garden chair and fire pit - you don’t need to leave. And if you did leave, Harlestone a walk away (6 miles!) or you could borrow a bike! I couldn’t ask for more. Felt relaxed from the moment I arrived and was sad to leave. Will be back again. Thank you Holly and Richard for creating such a wonderful place to stay.

Where to begin? Be in no doubt that this is the best place of it's type I have ever stayed in...… Firstly the owner made us very welcome when we visited over the New Year, could not have done more, really could not.... The whole set up has been given a lot of thought and the carriages are situated to command beautiful views across the valley. The carriages are stunning inside, including the shower room and want for nothing. There was also an amazing welcome basket with excellent local produce. I could write pages, just book a carriage for yourself and see!! Just beautiful, I would give ten stars if I could...……..

I cannot recommend this beautiful place enough! I surprised my partner here with 7 nights in the Edwardian Carriage and it was the loveliest stay away! Every tiny detail is thought of here! The carriage comes equipped with everything you could need - a weeks supply of tea / coffee making supplies - pots / pans / cutlery / cooking utensils etc - we were even left a welcoming pack of cookies and some beautiful blooming flowers - along with some cozy dressing gowns! A standout feature for us was the gorgeous fire place in the corner of the cabin - it made the carriage so cozy and on colder nights made it toasty! The shower was also a great feature - I wasn't expecting anything great considering past knowledge of camping / glamping showers but this was by far the best - hot water / powerful / spacious and came with big bottles of proper shampoo / conditioner and body wash instead of tiny bottles that never last through one wash! The decking was beautiful - we sat on the swinging bench every morning with a mug of coffee looking at the beautiful views and made the most of sunset BBQ's too! We even had my sister and her partner round one evening for a BBQ too! The owners, Holly and Richard, supplied us with plenty of firewood and there was more available to purchase if needed! The carriages also come with 4 bikes - two for each cabin - which we took out most days as its location is perfect for long walks and bike rides! Now the best feature by far.. Was the stunning outdoor bath - definitely what made me book in the first place in comparison to other places! The bath was just across from the cabin in the hidden field - it overlooked stunning views and was the most relaxing thing! There was no risk of seeing anyone for miles and, like the shower, came with a big bottle of relaxing bubble bath! We rarely ended up leaving the place itself as it was just so relaxing and had everything we needed here - however - there were plenty of places near by to explore if that's more of your cup of tea / we did venture out to Pura Vida - a beautiful cafe / garden centre for a fabulous breakfast which was a 5 minute drive - and Southwold Beach for an afternoon which was just a 40 minute drive away! Both recommended to us by Holly and Richard! Holly and Richard couldn't have been more helpful - on standby if we needed any help / advice. They were both there to greet me when I arrived and gave plenty of recommendations - but left us be to enjoy and relax our stay undisturbed.
