About Everglades Caravan Park and Fishing Lodges

Set in peaceful Norfolk countryside near Downham Market, Everglades Caravan Park and Fishing Lodges offers a refreshingly simple base for exploring the Fens. The site's name hints at its main draw: well-stocked fishing lakes that attract anglers year-round, while 24 electric grass pitches provide straightforward accommodation for tourers. Dogs are welcome, and the park stays open through winter, making it a flexible option for off-season breaks.

Facilities are deliberately pared back—there are no showers or toilets on site, so you'll need to be fully self-contained—but what's here works well: electric hook-ups, drinking water, and waste disposal keep things practical. The quiet, rural setting and friendly atmosphere earn consistent praise, though those wanting full amenities should look elsewhere. If you're after uncomplicated pitches, decent fishing, and easy access to Norfolk's market towns and coast, Everglades delivers without fuss.

I wanted to go somewhere I had never been before and this area ticked all the boxes. The images on the website promised an idyllic holiday of peace, relaxation and good fishing. The reality was even better. This is a sociable and friendly site. The fishing is not always easy but a good day is achievable. I have met some really lovely people here and the site is beautifully maintained. Bradley is a hard working, helpful and very friendly man who keeps the site in tip top condition. He is very good for advice on the local area and he is instantly likeable. I drove a long way to get here and I have no regrets at all. This is one of the nicest places I have ever visited. I will definitely be back!
