A ground-floor apartment in a detached house, The Shieling stands steps from Lochranza's waterfront with views across to the Kintyre coast. The building dates to an era when seaside properties were built to capture exactly this—light, proximity to the sea, and a sense of being part of the landscape rather than separate from it. Three bedrooms (a double and two singles), one bathroom with both bath and shower, and a living room with television occupy the space. The kitchen has an electric cooker, hob, dishwasher, microwave and fridge-freezer, so cooking for a group is straightforward. Electricity, wi-fi, bed linen and towels are included. One dog or cat can stay free of charge.
An enclosed garden with seating looks out over the water. Parking for two cars is on site. The village sits within reach of Lochranza Castle and its distillery, a pub and restaurant just 400 yards away, and the shore itself barely 50 yards off. Arran's northern coastline offers walking, birdwatching for golden eagles and red squirrels, and water-based activities; the Kintyre peninsula and islands of Islay, Jura and Gigha are accessible by short ferry crossings from the village. No smoking indoors. Arrive after 16:00, depart before 10:00.
