Umberleigh sits in rural North Devon countryside where quiet farmland and villages define the landscape. Malson Barn is a converted property that retains original character while offering modern essentials—the kind of place where you get both exposed beams and reliable heating. It sleeps six across three bedrooms: a king with ensuite shower, another king, and a twin with zip-and-link beds. There's a second bathroom with bath and shower. Ground-floor open-plan living joins the kitchen, dining and lounge areas, where a woodburner takes the edge off cooler evenings and a Smart TV is there if you want it.
The kitchen has electric cooking, a dishwasher, and everything needed to prepare proper meals. Electricity, Wi-Fi and bed linen are included. A utility room with washing machine handles laundry. Outside, an enclosed garden with decking and seating looks onto three acres of private field—genuinely useful if you're bringing a dog, since pets stay free. There's also a firepit for evening gatherings. Two cars can park on site. The barn is non-smoking throughout.

We had such a lovely weekend at Big Barn. Such a beautiful place and a huge space for entertaining. The kitchen was fully equipped with absolutely everything you might possibly need, the bedrooms are lovely and comfortable and having a bathroom per room was a huge bonus. The games room is great and the hot tub was bliss. Plenty of room for all the family without feeling overcrowded. We will definitely be coming back. Thank you for having us Sarah and Josh! We were all so sad to leave! X

Fantastic time with the family. So much room and entertainment space, the children had a lush time. The games room and hot tub are a brilliant bonus. Amazing hosts and very accommodating, highly recommend, will return!! We were a small group but looking forward to booking again with the extended family! Perfect location easy proximity to north Devon attractions!!

We had an amazing weekend stay at this beautiful barn! There was plenty of space for our group of 13 (plus a dog!) and it never felt crowded. The barn was spotless, cosy, and had absolutely everything we needed for a perfect weekend away. The games room was a big hit — darts, table tennis, snooker, table football — something for everyone! The hot tub was the cherry on top, perfect for relaxing in the evenings. We celebrated a 50th birthday here with family and friends, and it couldn’t have been more perfect. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for a spacious, comfortable, and fun place to stay. We’re already talking about coming back!

This place is beautiful!!! A lovely, warm, clean house with everything you could need (including a games room with hot tub). Very cozy and set in gorgeous countryside. We will definitely be visiting again even though it's a six hour drive away, it was well worth it and would very much recommend to anyone and everyone!!!⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
