The Garden Cottage

The Garden Cottage is a detached three-bedroom property occupying its own wing in rural North Devon, near the hamlet of Boode. The layout spreads across two floors: on the ground level, a living room with a 32-inch TV and gas fire opens into a kitchen-dining room with electric cooking, a dishwasher, washing machine and tumble dryer; upstairs are three bedrooms (a zip-and-link kingsize that can split into singles, a single, and a three-quarter double accessed through the second bedroom) sharing a shower room. One well-behaved dog stays free. Electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wifi are included; a travel cot and highchair are available on request.

The cottage sits on a quiet country lane within reach of Braunton, a village about fifteen minutes away that opens onto some of the north Devon coast's best swimming and surfing beaches. Rock pools and the beach are the obvious draw, but the surrounding area also works well for coastal walks along the South West Coast Path, inland exploration of Exmoor, or days out to Lynton, Ilfracombe and Clovelly. Cycling trails, golf courses, fishing and horse-riding stables are all nearby. There is a lawn and patio garden with a barbecue and seating, plus parking for two cars on site. The nearest shop, pub and restaurant are about a mile and a half away. No smoking inside.
