Calf Close Barn

North East Derbyshire

Ogston Reservoir is a 10-minute drive away, offering sailing, windsurfing, fishing and bird watching. Matlock, another 10 minutes further, has antique dealers and cafés aplenty. Ashover village itself—reachable on foot in about 30 minutes—has four food pubs, a butcher, and a shop, while All Saints Church dates back to the 1270s. The area sits between Chesterfield and Matlock in the valley, crossed by the River Amber.

Calf Close Barn is a detached conversion of a listed building, surrounded by 25 acres of farmland where rare breed sheep, chickens and ducks roam freely. The ground floor holds a living room with Freeview, and a kitchen/dining space with electric cooker, microwave and fridge. The bathroom has both a bath and shower. Upstairs are two bedrooms: one with a zip-and-link super kingsize (configured as two singles if preferred), the other a double. Heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are included. There's an enclosed lawned garden with patio furniture, bike storage, and parking for two cars. No smoking throughout. Walking and cycling trails start from the property itself, and Ashover is easily reached on foot.
