Springwood Cottages - Merlyn Barn

North East Derbyshire sits on the edge of the Peak District, close enough to Sheffield for city amenities yet surrounded by open moorland, gritstone edges and reservoir walks. Merlyn Barn, part of Springwood Cottages, is a converted rural building that gives you the best of this position: a private base for exploring the landscape, with parking on site and a garden to come back to.

The barn has two bedrooms and two bathrooms across two floors. Downstairs, an open-plan living and kitchen space flows into a ground-floor shower room; upstairs, a galleried second bedroom sits above with its own bath. Both bedrooms have kingsize beds and smart TVs. The kitchen is equipped for self-catering—oven, hob, dishwasher, fridge and microwave—and there's a washer-dryer for longer stays. Wi-Fi, heating, electricity, bed linen and towels are all included. You have the whole property to yourself, with enclosed patios front and back and seating in the garden.

One dog is welcome to stay free. The location suits anyone wanting countryside on the doorstep: footpaths start from here, and Hathersage, Eyam and the scenic edges of Curbar and Froggatt are all within reach. Smoking is not permitted inside.
