Birchdale Lodges & Alpaca’s - Humphrey-Basil Lodge

Humphrey-Basil Lodge is a detached property built to be entirely on one level, with three bedrooms and two bathrooms spread across a straightforward layout. The main living space opens onto a garden with sitting furniture and a barbecue, while inside you have a kitchen fitted with an electric oven, hob, dishwasher, air fryer and the usual appliances for self-catering. Bed linen, towels, wi-fi and heating are all included; there's parking for three cars on site.

The bedrooms comprise a kingsize with ensuite shower, a second kingsize, and a third with two singles. A separate wet room with bath and shower serves the rest of the accommodation. One dog travels free here, though it must stay on a lead throughout the 60 acres of grounds, which are shared with other properties and include a working farm with alpacas and a woodland walk. Children need supervising at all times. A pond sits somewhere in the grounds, so this is worth knowing if you have young ones.

The lodge sits a short drive from Lincoln, where the cathedral, castle and Brayford Wharf are within reach, and roughly the same distance from Newark. The surrounding countryside suits walking and cycling, and there is an enclosed field on-site where dogs can run.
