Two miles inland from the North Norfolk beaches, Squirrel's Drey sits within converted farm barns surrounded by open countryside and quiet lanes. The conversion has kept the buildings' character—brick and flint walls, oak flooring, wood burners—while making them comfortable year-round with underfloor heating. One dog is welcome and stays free.
The property is entirely yours for the duration of your stay. Ground floor accommodation comprises a king bedroom with ensuite shower, a second bedroom with zip-and-link single beds, a family bathroom with bath and shower, and an open-plan living space with kitchen, dining and sitting areas. The kitchen is fully equipped for self-catering. An enclosed courtyard with patio, seating and a barbecue sits outside; beyond that are shared meadow grounds where you can walk or simply look for the resident barn owl. Wifi, heating, electricity, bed linen and towels are all included; logs for the wood burner are provided to start you off. Initial logs for the wood burner are included.
The location puts you within reach of traditional seaside towns—Cromer, Sheringham and Mundesley are short drives away, while the Norfolk Broads and boat hire at Wroxham lie 12 miles south. Norwich city centre is 30 minutes by car. Footpaths and quiet country roads lead directly from the property for walking and cycling. No smoking.

A beautiful place to relax and to do as much or as little as you want. A very nice, thoughtful welcome pack ! Appreciated after our very long eventful journey. Just a little thought, the showers are lovely but can get very slippery !! Perhaps a non slip bath mat would be useful ?? Or opportunity to request a bath mat ??? A wonderful stay.

The best holiday we've had for years in the UK!! We (family of 4 + 1 dog) stayed in Stag's Rest at Manor Farm Barns in Aug-21 and had an amazing holiday. If you're looking for somewhere clean, rural (but within 10mins of the coast, shops etc) and with owners who really care about their guests, you've found the perfect place. Thanks to Anne and her husband for making our holiday such a brilliant one! Colin

Had a fab week staying here in July with the family. Lovely, extremely clean barn with great owners- Anne was super helpful and friendly. Location is pretty rural which suited us fine- managed bike rides with young kids from the front door to the beach and Bacton woods on the quiet local roads. Would definitely recommend.

We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay at Owl’s Roost for a week and the location was perfect for our needs. We loved the daily fresh eggs available to buy, laid by the hens on the property! The provided patio furniture and BBQ made for a lovely al fresco dinner and the field provided ample space for a game of frisbee, catch or a simple relax in the sun with a glass of wine! Particularly lovely was the visit by the ice cream van between 5pm and 6pm daily - we didn’t have children with us but this didn’t stop us flocking to get a nostalgic and delicious 99 each evening. Facilities were excellent and local amenities are a short drive! Everything was perfect and we will be sure to return again soon.
