Riversdale Cottage
North Norfolk
The Norfolk Broads are within reach for a day on the water, and Riversdale Cottage sits on the River Ant with direct access to boat hire. A day skipper experience aboard a classic Broad cruiser or restored 1930s yacht is available by arrangement, or you can opt for something simpler—a rowing dinghy or canoe to explore at your own pace. The cottage itself accommodates eight across four bedrooms: a kingsize and ensuite on the first floor, two further kingsize rooms (one with an ensuite), and a twin bedroom, plus a main bathroom. Downstairs, the living room has a woodburner and opens to a patio; the kitchen is equipped for proper cooking, with a range, dishwasher and all the basics covered.
The grounds include a lawned garden with patio furniture, a cart shed with table tennis, and parking for five cars. The property is yours alone—no shared access. Essentials like heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are included; logs for the burner are provided to start with. There is an unfenced pond two yards from the house and an unfenced river a hundred yards away, so the setting is genuinely rural. The Broads themselves are known for birds: spoonbills, herons, geese, swans and ducks are regular sightings. The cottage does not permit smoking.
