Bacton's sandy beach is a short walk away, and the North Norfolk coast beyond offers far more than a paddle. Mundesley is nearby for quieter seaside time. Cromer and Sheringham, each about 14 miles south, have the usual resort attractions—plus Sheringham's steam railway runs inland through designated Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty countryside towards Weybourne. The Norfolk Broads lie 8 miles inland, with boat hire and waterside pubs. Blickling and Felbrigg, two of the National Trust's most substantial properties in Norfolk, are within reach for a day out. Great Yarmouth, 25 miles further on, caters to families after amusement arcades and the Sea Life Centre.

The Officers House itself is a detached property that sleeps 12 across six bedrooms and two bathrooms. Ground floor offers a living room, dining room, kitchen with electric oven and gas hob, utility room with washing machine, and one bedroom with shower room. Upstairs are five more bedrooms. An enclosed garden with patio and sitting area comes with the house, plus parking for four cars on site. Essentials like bed linen, electricity and Wi-Fi are included; the heating runs on gas.

This is a whole property rental, so it suits large groups or extended families wanting privacy. No smoking throughout. One pet is welcome.

We’ve stayed multiple times in this house for family holidays in the summer and have loved it every time. Lovely house and village with good size garden, kitchen, rooms and much more .

Great stay. Very welcoming, great location near beach and pub. Well equipped and furnished property.

It was OK not more than mediocre. Not enough care about details to feel hospitable. Proximity to sea front 7min walk is a bonus.

Great cottage for a big family event! We stayed as a group of 13, with a mixture of babies, teens, adults and old folks. The rooms were great, plenty of room, mattresses were a little hard but more than okay for a decent nights kip. The facilities and kitchen were all clean and tidy along with a good variety and amount of cutlery and cooking tools. Some small downsides are the slightly outdated features of the house such as the taps, showers and kitchen. Saying that though everything was fully functioning so better that than new and not working! Will definitely give this cottage another thought if we are thinking of meeting again!
