Abbey Vista

Whitby's steep streets and clifftop abbey draw walkers and history hunters year-round, and Abbey Vista places you in the thick of it. The flat occupies the upper floors of a Victorian townhouse, sleeping four across two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The second floor holds the larger bedroom with a king bed and ensuite shower, plus a living and dining room where you can watch the street life below, and a kitchen fitted with an oven, hob, dishwasher and everything else needed to cook. Climb another flight to the twin bedroom with its own ensuite bath, TV and DVD player.

Electricity, heating, bed linen, towels and wi-fi are included. There's on-road parking with permits, and a travel cot and highchair are available if you need them. The entrance is seven steps up from street level. No smoking indoors.

From here you can walk to fish and chip shops, cafes, pubs and independent retailers without crossing a main road. The steam railway, museum and boat trips are nearby, and the coastal villages of Robin Hood's Bay, Staithes and Sandsend are within easy reach for day trips.
