Barmoor Farm Cottages - Rose Cottage

Scarborough's coastline is three miles away, but Rose Cottage sits on the edge of something equally compelling: the North York Moors National Park, where walking and cycling trails wind through forests and moorland. The village of Scalby—complete with church, café, restaurant, shops and two pubs—is a 15-minute walk from the cottage, and the Forge Valley Woodland Reserve begins just half a mile away. The owners provide a guide to local driving routes and places to eat, compiled specifically to help you make the most of what's nearby.

The cottage has three bedrooms and three bathrooms, sleeping up to five. Ground floor includes an open-plan living and dining area with a gas fire (no television), plus a kitchen with electric oven, gas hob and full-sized fridge. Upstairs are two further bedrooms: one with a four-poster double and Freeview TV, the other a single. Every bedroom has its own ensuite. A walled garden with loggia and shared barbecue faces west, and there is parking for two cars on site. Bed linen, towels and superfast Wi-Fi are provided. The cottage does not allow smoking.

Beyond your immediate surroundings, Scarborough itself offers a Sea Life Centre, Theatre in the Round, seafront restaurants and harbour boat trips. Throxenby Mere, two miles away, is open for coarse fishing.
