Step into Blacksmith's Cottage and you arrive straight into a combined living and dining room with a sofa bed, freeview television and radio. The kitchen sits next to it, equipped with an electric oven, hob and microwave for self-catering. A shower room with cubicle completes the ground floor. Upstairs is a double bedroom and a separate toilet. The cottage sleeps four in total: two in the upstairs double, and two on the sofa bed downstairs if needed. Wi-Fi, electricity, bed linen and towels are provided, and there is private parking for one car on site.
Built as a blacksmith's workshop in the 17th century, this traditional stone building now sits in the village of Hawsker, positioned between Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay. Both are within walking or cycling distance, and the Hawkshead cycle route—a disused railway line converted to a path—passes just 300 yards away, running between Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay. The George & Dragon pub is 50 yards from the door. The cottage is set within the North York Moors National Park, where moorland, dales and coastal cliffs offer routes for walking and cycling directly from your arrival. Frequent buses run to Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay and Scarborough. There is an unfenced pond in the grounds. Smoking is not permitted inside.
