Horton-in-Ribblesdale sits at the foot of Pen-y-Ghent, one of the Three Peaks, making it a natural base for serious walkers. The village itself is quiet but has what you need: the Blind Beck Tearoom is close by for a break, and the surrounding countryside opens onto some of the best ridge routes and valley paths in the Pennines. Less ambitious days work too—the limestone landscapes reward slower exploration, and the area has stone circles, old packhorse routes, and villages worth driving to.
Blindbeck Holiday Cottage is a 17th-century stone building offering three bedrooms (two doubles and one single), two bathrooms, and sleeping space for five. The ground floor has a living room with Smart TV and electric fire, a separate dining room, a kitchen with electric oven and induction hob, and a shower room. Upstairs, the main bathroom has a bath with shower over. Essentials like bed linen, towels, Wi-Fi and heating are included. There's a garden with seating area and parking for two cars on site.
The cottage suits families and groups needing a proper base for a week of walking, or anyone wanting a break in high country without the drive to Scotland. Note that there is an unfenced stream in the grounds about 10 metres from the house, and five steps lead down into the garden. No smoking inside.

A cosy english cottage set in the tranquil Yorkshire Dales. With all the home comforts you could need plus modern kitchen and showers. We loved the milk and cookies that Heather left for our arrival and all the amenities and equipment that make the place perfect for a short break in the countryside.

Nice enough cottage with oak beams, authentic. Bit dark inside, toilets inside bathrooms was inconvenient, and poor/no WiFi in most parts of the cottage.

We stopped here for tea and scones before we could check into our Airbnb. It was so lovely and such a lovely change from big chain cafes. The service was amazing and we were made it feel very at home

Lovely old English Yorkshire dales cottage. Roomier than I thought from photos. Nice rooms in traditional style. Everything you need is here, lovely views n countryside surrounding, traditional pub n food walking distance. Tearooms attached to cottage, again traditional old English style. Train station walking distance for scenic Settle to Carlisle railway, but never disturbed by it. Only downside to be aware of is no or weak mobile phone signal. Internet but weak, useable in parts of house, two foot thick walls probably don't help. But if you want peaceful, relaxing to get away for walks, scenic drives, scenic rail travel or just resting n reading, ideal.
