About Cragg Hill Farm Pods

Fancy a bit of Yorkshire camping but with an added dose of weatherproof comfort? Come along to Cragg Hill Farm Pods to cosy up in a spacious and well-equipped wooden pod on the banks of the River Ribble, a mile or so from Horton in Ribblesdale.

There are gorgeous views all around here, whether you choose to take hikes on the Ribble Way or Pennine Way, tackle the Yorkshire Three Peaks or simply settle on site to gaze out at Pen-y-Ghent and the Ribble Valley or see if you can spot the trains trundling by on the Settle-Carlisle line.

Each pod sleeps four on two bunk beds with mattresses (bring your own bedding and towels), plus you get a TV, underfloor heating, ensuite shower room and a kitchenette with microwave, toaster, kettle and fridge/freezer. There's a bench and table inside and a patio area with picnic bench for alfresco meals. If you need to work up an appetite, three country pubs sit within a mile, or head down to Settle (15 minutes' drive) for a pool, golf course and supermarkets to stock up for picnics around the Yorkshire Dales.

What visitors say

This was our second visit to the campsite, but after the way we were treated on arrival, it will absolutely be our last. We had booked alongside a group of friends, with each family making their own individual booking. When we arrived, we began setting up so that we could pitch near one another. We accept that the campsite rules require guests to pay before pitching. Had this been explained to us politely, we would have apologised, stopped immediately and gone to pay without any issue. Instead, we were confronted by an extremely angry and hostile man who demanded to know who the organiser of our group was. There was no organiser because we had all booked separately. When we tried to explain, he stood shouting in our faces, visibly shaking with anger and threatening to throw us off the campsite if we did not go and pay immediately. The level of aggression was completely unnecessary and left several adults shocked and upset. The children with us were also distressed by seeing an angry man shouting at their parents and other members of the group. This was not a minor disagreement or a simple misunderstanding. It was an intimidating and deeply unpleasant encounter that ruined the start of our weekend and made us feel completely unwelcome. All that was needed was a calm request for us to stop pitching and go to the house to pay. Instead, we were treated with hostility, aggression and a complete lack of basic courtesy or hospitality. Regardless of the location or facilities, no guest should be spoken to in this way. The behaviour we experienced was unacceptable, and I would not feel comfortable returning with my family or recommending that others stay here. Regrettably, I could not recommend this campsite. 1*

Lovely quiet campsite 5 minutes drive outside of Horton in Ribblesdale. Lots of space in the multiple fields, toilets and washing facilities are only a short walk away. Showers are located at one end of the site, so can be a trek if you're at the other side.

Me and friends motorbike camped for our first time on an august weekend lovely weather the campsite was well maintained and clean showers was nice and clean and so was the toilets with toilet roll! my only issue was the toilet block light wasn't working (no bulb) but apart from that it was clean. very peaceful area, lovely views and owners/workers very polite and helpful! me and my friends said we would definitely stay again in the future!

Very basic site. But for the price it's well worth it. Showers, toilet and washroom nice and clean. However the hosts never introduced themselves nor asked if everything was ok. Would I go back..it'll probably be a no.
