A single-storey cottage at the edge of Warthill village, Bridleways has everything on one floor. You enter into a living room with Freeview TV and CD player, which opens to a kitchen equipped for proper cooking—electric oven and hob, microwave, and fridge. The bedroom features a four-poster kingsize bed, and there's an ensuite with cubicle shower and toilet. A pebbled courtyard with garden furniture and ample private parking surrounds the property. Bed linen, towels and Wi-Fi are included; the place is heated by oil-fired central heating. The owners also run a small ice-cream business from an adjacent work area during summer months.
Warthill is quietest in winter, but from May onwards Breezy Knees Gardens—20 acres of planted borders and a specialist perennial nursery with a cafe—draws visitors to the village. York, famous for its Minster and railways museum, lies 6 miles away. Castle Howard is 10 miles off; National Trust properties at Nunnington and Beningbrough are nearby. The North Yorkshire Moors, Scarborough and Whitby are all within reach by car. A pub operates within a mile. No smoking.
