Converted farm buildings arranged around a landscaped courtyard, Little Barn sits in open countryside yet lies only 2 miles from York city centre. The property occupies its own section of what was once an 18th-century farmstead, now a collection of holiday cottages reached by a private drive through fields.
Two bedrooms and one bathroom occupy the first floor; the second bedroom is accessed through the first. Downstairs, a combined living and dining room has a TV and DVD player, while the kitchen is equipped for proper cooking with a gas hob, electric oven, dishwasher and all the essentials. Bed linen, towels, wi-fi and heating are included. A utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer is shared with other guests in the courtyard, as are a games room with pool table and air hockey, a large garden with patio and barbecue, and a hot tub and sauna. Private parking for two cars comes with the property.
York's attractions—the Minster, city walls, museums and independent shops—are a short drive away, with riverside walks and pubs along the Ouse accessible too. Waterworld, golf courses, theatres and the racecourse all lie within 2 miles. Further afield, Castle Howard is 10 miles away and the North Yorkshire Moors steam railway at Pickering 25 miles. No smoking inside the property.

Perfectly charming place with everything you need to make your stay comfortable. Close enough to pop in yo the city and experience all that York has to offer, and quiet enough for a decent night's sleep. Would recommend :)

Love this place, this was our second visit and it was just as lovely as the first. I love how they decorate the place for Christmas. It has everything you need and is a short trip into York. Great carvery across the road as well.

We stayed in Big Barn, a lovely 'home from home' cosy and comfortable cottage with everything we needed, in a pleasantly arranged, and peaceful, location, but only a couple of miles from York. We also really enjoyed the hot tub! Very relaxing after our daily outings. The owner was very helpful and friendly, and on hand if needed, but left us to enjoy our holiday in peace. We would happily stay here again. There's a Park and Ride to York (Monks Cross) only a couple of minutes away by car, as were the supermarkets. Also a Toby Carvery 5 minutes walk from the cottage. All very handy, but you feel as though you're tucked away from all the hustle and bustle in this peaceful and very pleasant location.

Such a lovely holiday cottage with everything we needed in lovely grounds with hot tub and games room. Close to York. WiFi a little slow at times but lots of happy memories made.
