About Holiday Inn Express York
Holiday Inn Express York is a low-rise, modern hotel building on Malton Road, built for practical comfort rather than period charm. With 49 rooms, it offers a manageable scale that suits both business trips and short city breaks, and its straightforward design keeps things simple for guests who want an easy base rather than a destination in itself.
Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms, and family and accessible options are available, along with drinks in the room for convenience. Breakfast is served with a good range of choices, and there's a restaurant and bar on site for evening meals or a quiet drink. Free WiFi and business services make it workable for those travelling for work, while luggage storage helps on arrival or departure day.
Free on-site parking is a genuine draw given the hotel's proximity to York's attractions, including York Minster and the wider city centre. Pubs, restaurants and entertainment can be found nearby, and there's a golf course within reach for those wanting to fill a spare afternoon. Staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful, though it's worth booking directly and double-checking reservation details, as some guests have run into booking mix-ups. Pets are welcome, making this a fuss-free option for a York visit.
What guests say
Just had 2 nights staying here and couldn't fault a thing. The room was very clean and spacious, very comfy and we slept well. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming, especially Kelly who is very efficient, extremely friendly and chatted with everyone. Free parking and breakfast and only a short drive into York. Would definitely stay here again.

This great hotel was in a great location for our visit to York. We stayed for two nights. There is ample free parking onsite. We received a friendly, professional welcome. The room we stayed in (241) was tastefully furnished and decorated. The only downside to are stay was the small double bed we had, it was clean and comfortable but far too small for two adults, therefore we didn’t have much sleep for two nights as every time one us moved it woke the other up. This was the only downside to are stay, all be it an important one. The room was quiet and well equipped otherwise. The breakfast that we had on both days was excellent from the continental options to the cooked breakfasts. The staff were friendly, helpful and professional. I would recommend this hotel and would stay again if there was an option to have a king size bed.

I stayed here in late October ‘25. Comfortable room with all amenities. The staff were friendly and accomodating. Breakfast was well catered. 15 minutes to York centre. Stayed an extra two days. Olivia, I think, was a most personable person. Thanks from OZ.
