Captain's House is a modern four-bedroom town house sleeping eight, positioned on the edge of Whitby with direct access to the surrounding countryside. The property comes ready for immediate use: electricity, heating, bed linen and towels are all covered, along with Wi-Fi throughout. A welcome pack is provided on arrival.
The ground floor holds a double bedroom with ensuite shower and a utility room with washing machine and tumble dryer. Upstairs, the kitchen and dining area are fitted for self-catering with an electric oven, gas hob, dishwasher and full-sized fridge, while the separate living room has a 46-inch television with Freesat. The second floor contains three further bedrooms—a kingsize with ensuite, a twin, and a bunk room—plus a family bathroom with bath and shower. An enclosed garden with patio and furniture sits to the rear; parking for two cars is on site. The property does not permit smoking.
High Stakesby stands within walking distance of Whitby's harbour, cobbled streets and abbey. The Esk river path and the Cinder Track—a disused railway line running towards Robin Hood's Bay—both begin nearby, making this a natural base for walkers. Families with young children will find a travel cot, highchair and stairgate available, and an enclosed playground sits in front of the house. One well-behaved pet is welcome.

Fantastic stay - great house with everything we could ever need. Great location with a Lidl 5 mins walk away plus easy to walk into Whitby (25 mins) & to the dog friendly beach (20 mins). Debra was great and communicated well. Highly recommend. Thanks for a great stay!

Great holiday house with lots of great information provided and responsive hosts. Property was clean and well stocked with everything you’d need. Outdoor space was perfect for the dogs to safely wander. Location is up and out of Whitby tourist hotspots but there is a lovely castle just behind the property with great views. Also walkable is White House where we enjoyed a lovely meal. Lidl and an amazing garage/butchers are just round the corner.

Had a wonderful weekend at Captain's House. Deb was super helpful when we enquired about booking. House location was great for walking into Whitby. Beautiful interior, very well equipped and all very comfortable. Garden was great, lovely seating and dining which we utilised in the lovely sunshine. Children loved the garden toys and was a perfect size for 6 adults, 3 children and two very happy doggies! Thank you!
